I like to look at the origins of words as a way to understand what they actually mean. Teknologia, a word from Attican Greek, means simply a "systematic treatment of an art or craft." (Definition of Technology, n.d.)Thats what we're dealing with now - teknologia, but we know the word now means a great deal more than the first definition. I'll bet the word meant a great deal more even to the Greeks of 400B.C.
Technology - our word - also, I believe, ask us to think about how our view of things in the world changes as technology expands ( I don't think tekhnologia has ever contracted for very long). That's what this single page definition does. Read an insightful account of how technology has expanded our view of an ordinary tree.

Good idea to study the origin of the word and see just how close we are still keeping true to the original meaning!
Wow! The section about the tree really made me think..... technology... truly can be more that electronics that we used to enhance our classrooms..... very interesting.
